Artrageous, 30 x 40, oil on canvas

It has been a very long, awesome day. So, I wanted to post really quickly before my head hits the pillow. Above is a clip of the painting I did today for the Artrageous weekend in Columbia, MO. This event was based off of an episode of Top Chef that was on Bravo. The idea is a collaboration between a chef and an artist.

Chef Andy Burris, with Bleu Restaurant made a delicious colorful stir fry dish. I had 2 hours to paint a piece that was inspired by his creation. It was so much fun! And, although this piece didn't quite turn out to be a favorite of mine, it was more about so much more than that. It was about the people that brought me there, and the ones that I was able to meet and connect with. The process, and being in the moment has such an impact on me.

I am so grateful for the opportunities that are presented to me through this wonderful journey I am on. Being a creative person allows me to do so many different things, and meet so many amazing people. I am always open to new and exciting things!

My gallery in Columbia, MO is called Poppy. The owner Liz and her wonderful staff of people have been so awesome to me. They have supported, and promoted my art work for so many years. If you are traveling through Columbia you must stop in. They support so many creative people and their careers. It is people like her that really make a difference in others lives. I hope she knows that is not a small thing. She is a huge piece of the puzzle that helps me be an artist for a living!

So, a HUGE thank you to Chef Andy, Bleu Restaurant, Liz and her husband Travis Tucker!

Happy Sunday to you all! I hope it was fulfilling as mine! My heart is FULL!
