JACKIE BATTENFIELD'S THE ARTIST'S GUIDE AUTHOR TALK AND BOOK SIGNINGSeptember 17, 7p at Unity Temple on the PlazaAdmission: $20 (includes copy of book and two event tickets)
On Thursday, September 17 at 7 pm, artist and author Jackie Battenfield will be in Kansas City for an author talk and book signing at Unity Temple on the Plaza. Jackie's new book, The Artist's Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love, has been called the ultimate how-to manual for working visual artists willing to "challenge the myth of the starving, disorganized artist." Online reviewers have raved, calling it "the best book available" on the topic. A working artist herself, Jackie has already inspired dozens of artists in Kansas City during her previous visits with the Creative Capital professional development team. Three years in the making, this book captures the best of Jackie's advice, insight and wisdom about how to build a successful career.
Admission to the September 17 event is being handled by Rainy Day Books and there is a $20 fee, which includes a copy of the book and two tickets to the event. For information about making a reservation please see the Rainy Day Books website or call (913) 384-3126.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to KCArtistLink. Jackie's visit is made possible by Rainy Day Books, KC ArtistLink, the Kansas City Art Institute, the Arts Incubator and the Kansas City Artists Coalition, and Leveraging Investments in Creativity.
